July 2015 -- Julie found the biggest Hermit Crab you've ever seen! He had hijacked a conch shell.

Hello everybody,

By now, most of you are aware that our beloved Julie Palmer Fry died the morning of October 20th, 2015, after a 4 year battle with cancer.

(details at:  http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/juliefry )

Below is some information regarding the memorial service for Julie which I would like to share.

If you would, please share this information with anyone who knew Julie, as it will help me to spread the word farther.  Julie touched the lives of many people over the course of her life, and I want to make sure that I do my best to reach them.  You can just direct them to this website for specific information.

Memorial Service Information
====================================

Julie’s memorial service was held on Saturday, December 12th at 12:30pm, at Ten Mile Christian Church in Meridian, Idaho.

You may see a recording of Julie’s memorial service on this page.

It was a very nice service, with a lot of friends and family in attendance.   The lobby was decorated very nicely with a lot of personal items, as well as many photo boards showing some good samples of Julie’s childhood and adventurous life.

Our old church pastor and long time friend Lance Hahn led the service, and did a wonderful job.  It was very nice for us to have Lance lead the service, as he was the one who did Julie and my pre-marital counseling, our wedding ceremony, my baptism, as well as some prayers over our family when Julie found out she had cancer.

After the memorial ceremony, we released some dove shaped balloons, and it was very nice seeing them head directly for our home and awesome neighborhood.

Flowers or No Flowers?  –  Donation Information
========================

Julie had hundreds of friends, so in lieu of overwhelming our home with many dozens of beautiful (yet temporary) flowers, we asked that a memorial donation can be made to Julie’s favorite charity “World Vision”, or another charity of your choice.

(The Right side of the home page has some good gift options.  We’ve given chickens, ducks, goats, clean water, sewing machines to start businesses.  We liked it because it created upward spiral opportunities for families, rather than just a one-time handout.)

Or if you would prefer, we also have a “GoFundMe.com” account that Julie’s mom had originally setup.  Donations made there will go into a special needs fund setup specifically, for our two children Elijah, and Heidi to go toward things to help, or better their lives or future.

Some of Julie’s Pictures

Julie loved to take pictures.

It was one of her passions, and she treasured them.

We have created an account on dropbox.com showing many of her pictures from childhood, all the way to shortly before she died.

Visit and view some of her pictures here.

This area is by no means all of her pictures, it’s only a small sample.  That would be just too large of a task, as there are probably somewhere between 15 to 20 thousand pictures that she had.

So, we setup the account to show some of them.

I hope you enjoy!

Newspaper Articles

Julie an amazing person, and was so inspirational to so many people.

Shortly before Julie died, Julie was selected through a lottery process, to be one of a few limited spots on an all expense paid 7 day river rafting trip down the Salmon River wilderness for cancer survivors.

It was an amazing trip for her.  Since it was a trip exclusively for cancer survivors, Julie was touched by the connections she made with everybody.  Truly a once in a lifetime trip.   The trip was covered by a writer for the Montana Standard, and here is the article written afterward.

Here’s a link to that article:

Cancer patients, survivors find healing on the water

After the rafting trip, one of the local newspapers also did a couple of stories on Julie’s battle against cancer, and our goal of getting her down to a clinic in Mexico for some specialized treatment that is not currently offered in the U.S.A.

Here’s a link to the first article:

Then, after she died, the same writer talked to me and did a followup article on our love story, our family, and our wonderful community that bonded together to help support us during our time of need.

Here’s a link to the followup article:

Meridian Press article — Followup to Julie’s death

I think she did a wonderful job writing this article.  I think it was done with a lot of sincere compassion, respect, and caring.   Julie would’ve liked it.
